Kentucky Adult Education Center and Student of the Year Lauded

Elliott County Adult Education has been selected as KET’s Kentucky Learning Center of the Year for its outstanding use of Fast Forward, KET’s GED® online test-preparation curriculum. During the KET visit, state Rep. Rocky Adkins presented a special citation from the House of Representatives to the center.

Elliott County’s only full-time instructor, Desiree Danyelle Simmons, uses KET Fast Forward to enable students who can’t come into the center to study for their test at home. Several of these learners earned their GED® credentials this year by incorporating Fast Forward into their studies.

KET Staff also visited the Lyon County Adult Education Center to honor Amanda Isner-Cheek, a recent GED® graduate, as KET Fast Forward Student of the Year.

Isner-Cheek used KET Fast Forward to prepare for her tests and passed all four – math, language arts, science, and social studies – on her first try. She also received a citation from the Kentucky House of Representatives, which was sent to her by Sen. Stan Humphries.
