New and Classic KET Favorites Win Awards

KET was recently honored with two National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) Awards, presented at NETA’s annual professional development conference, held in Baltimore.

KET’s long-running current events program aimed at fourth- through eighth-graders, News Quiz, won a 2016 NETA Award in the Instructional Media – Broadcast Program category. The popular weekly program has been a favorite among Kentucky teachers for more than 30 years.

KET’s new Exploraciones multimedia collection also received a 2016 NETA Award, in the Instructional Media – Teacher Resource category. Designed for elementary school teachers, Exploraciones offers an array of online tools for teaching Spanish to young students, including video series, animations, lesson plans, activity ideas and more.

“We are thrilled that two of KET’s most popular instructional media resources have been honored by NETA,” said Shae Hopkins, KET’s executive director and CEO. “Resources like News Quiz and Exploraciones illustrate KET’s commitment to providing innovative, accessible educational tools to teachers throughout Kentucky and across the country.”
