KET is pleased to announce the winners of its 2017 Young Writers Contest. The annual contest encourages creative expression and literacy development, by inviting students in kindergarten through eighth grade to submit original illustrated stories, short stories and poetry.

5 Kentucky students selected as PBS Emperor Science Award winners

Five high school students from Kentucky have been named 2017 winners in the Emperor Science Award Program, sponsored by PBS LearningMedia and Stand Up To Cancer. As Emperor Science Award recipients, they will be provided an opportunity to conduct cancer research in partnership with esteemed scientists, who will work as their mentors.

Tyner Elementary teacher named 2017 PBS Digital Innovator

Ashley Judd, a first grade teacher at Tyner Elementary in Jackson County, has been selected as the 2017 PBS Digital Innovator for the state of Kentucky. Judd is one of 51 educators from across the country – representing each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia – selected in the fifth annual PBS Digital Innovators Program.

KET receives Robinson Award from Kentucky Board of Education

The annual award is presented to an individual or a group in Kentucky in recognition of “outstanding leadership, commitment and service in promoting equity and opportunity to learn at high levels for all Kentucky students.”
