Theater Basics: Off the Stage

On the Verge theater company was founded in 2008 with the concept of doing site-specific productions instead of performing plays on a typical stage in a theater. The idea is that members of the audience feel they are part of the play, not just viewers.

This collection of videos follows On the Verge’s production of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard from first reading of the script through final dress rehearsal. On the Verge founder Ave Lawyer and members of the cast discuss their process and offer ideas on acting and theater production.
