Connect with new cursive handwriting lessons

Get ready to write in style! Every cursive letter from A to Z is now available from KET’s Cursive Connection. In this video collection, students—assisted by a few animal friends—follow a step-by-step guide to write each letter of the alphabet in cursive!
Starting with the basics—like proper posture, pencil grip, and paper position—students build confidence as they explore both uppercase and lowercase letters and learn how to smoothly connect them into words. Using the easy-to-learn New American Cursive style, this collection offers helpful tips for left-handed writers and plenty of time to practice and improve.
Free for users, Cursive Connection materials are available on PBS LearningMedia and streaming on KET Education’s YouTube.
A corresponding professional development course is also now available. In Mastering the Art of Cursive Handwriting, teachers will learn about the history of cursive handwriting, the research on its academic benefits, and best practices for teaching it. The brand-new course features an interview with Iris Hatfield of Louisville, Kentucky, who developed the simplified New American Cursive script. At the end of the course, learners earn a Certificate of Completion for one hour of PD or EILA credit.
