If you’re looking to enhance classroom instruction with engaging, kid-friendly news, KET has the answer for you. News Quiz is back for another school year!

Now in its 41st year, News Quiz is KET’s weekly 15-minute current events program. The show features eight short news stories with an interactive quiz. From civics and geography to science, technology, and the arts, News Quiz will help your students get the background knowledge they need to make sense of the world.

The program also offers an opportunity for kids to share their responses to an opinion question through email or our webpage.

Past opinion questions have asked students about their favorite book or book character or what places they would like to visit. We’ve even asked for poetry submissions! We read responses from students across the nation and around the world.

We also offer special bonus episodes about current topics like the election process or severe weather.

A new episode of the award-winning News Quiz is available online each week during the school year on PBS LearningMedia. The program is hosted by veteran journalist Kelsey Starks.
