Join KET for COABE virtual conference

Some adult educators are not able to travel to the Coalition of Adult Basic Education annual conference due to budget reductions and time constraints. In an effort to better serve all constituents, COABE introduced virtual conferences a few years ago. They have been met with great response and the next one is coming this month!

FastForward helps Arizona learner accomplish her goal

Morgan Morris, an adult learner from Mesa, Arizona recently passed all the tests required for her high school equivalency credential in just FIVE hours!! She attributes her FAST pass to FastForward, which allowed her to pretest and create study guides, and her 13-year old son who helped her immensely in math!

Daniel Tiger Be My Neighbor Day

KET Early Childhood Education held their 3rd Daniel Tiger Be My Neighbor Day on September 5, 2019 at Family Care Center in Lexington.  This event was possible thru a grant from The Fred Rogers Company and PNC Bank.  A major part of the day provides children and their families  ways to give back to the local community around them.

Louisville Families Code with ScratchJr

Over a dozen families are getting together at Camp Taylor Elementary School in Louisville each week in September for KET’s ScratchJr workshops on introductory coding for young children. Kids learn to snap together graphical building blocks to make characters walk, sing, and even join a dance party. Jefferson County Public Schools are implementing the program this year thanks to a Ready To Learn mini-grant distributed by KET.

News Quiz celebrates its 35th season

News Quiz, KET’s Emmy award-winning weekly current events program, celebrates its 35th season this year. The 15-minute program is targeted to 4th through 8th graders and includes a student-friendly quiz on the week’s top news stories. Each episode shares visually engaging content, drawn from the state, nation and world.
