News Quiz

Join other students across Kentucky and the United States for KET’s weekly current events show. Targeted to grades 4-8, this kid-friendly, interactive program features a 10-question quiz based on each week’s stories. Your students will stay up to date with state, national, and international stories. Plus, don’t miss our special Making News Quiz field trip! The new season starts September 7 on PBS LearningMedia. (Grades 3-8)

Social Studies Shorts

From the team that brings you News Quiz, this series explores social studies and civics topics from Kentucky to the nation and the world. Episodes cover topics like the Kentucky legislature and how a bill becomes law and are accompanied by discussion prompts, vocabulary and a short printable quiz. New episodes feature electoral systems across the United States, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. (Grades 3-12)

Kentucky Field Trips

Take a field trip with KET! From primordial fossils hidden under the Ohio River to a 60-acre indoor farm in Morehead, surprising discoveries await. Visit the largest solar farm in KY, the first net zero school in the United States, the Kentucky State Capitol and more! There’s nothing like a field trip to bring classroom concepts to life. Kentucky Studies

Discover the rich culture of Kentucky in this collection on PBS LearningMedia, which features Kentuckians who made their mark on history and the places that made Kentucky what it is today. New resources feature clips from two KET documentaries, Angels on Horseback: Midwives in the Mountains and The Pack Horse Librarians of Appalachia as well as videos from another recent documentary, City of Ali. (Grades 6-12)

Artsville

Bring your students on a trip to Artsville, where art takes center stage! Your class will learn dance, drama, music, and visual art concepts by watching these fun animations–available in both English and Spanish. The town’s citizens will introduce standards-aligned topics to your students– from the styles of visual art at the Art Gallery and elements of art at the Prolific Painters Academy to note value at the Artsville Arcade and audience etiquette at the theater. (Grades 3-8)

The Arts for Every Classroom

Managing emotions and behavior is key to student success and a healthy classroom community. This collection offers resources to help educators and parents understand emotional development and lead students in art projects that build those skills—projects that can be incorporated into almost any classroom subject. New resources for this school year focus on expressing feelings and relieving anxiety through percussion and dance. (Grades 3-12)

Everyday Learning

Children learn by observing animal friends in the backyard, discovering new ways to get moving, picking out shapes in a walk around the neighborhood or critiquing a famous piece of art. Learning occurs naturally, everyday! This award-winning collection gives educators easy access to short videos and interactives created especially for the youngest students. (Grades PreK-2)

Grow Up Great

Lessons found in the Grow Up Great collections on PBS LearningMedia have been co-designed by museum and educational partners like KET and feature many of your favorite PBS KIDS friends. Introduce media clips, extension activities, articles, and crafts in your classroom and share resources with families to strengthen a school-to-home connection. Children will learn about the world around them through science, math, and art activities. As you engage in these lessons, you can feel confident that you are helping children grow up great!  (Grades PreK-2)
